Our objective is to balance housing affordability with climate policy. HousingAndClimate.org focuses on the convergence of housing and climate and how the two requirements can and should be able to be accomplished without sacrificing one for the other. Moving housing to net zero carbon emissions can elevate the cost of housing and put pressure on citizens to procure affordable shelter, whether through ownership or rental. Together we will explore facts surrounding electrification of buildings, the costs involved and mitigation strategies to lower the cost of new home construction while maintaining environmental goals.
